Advocate General Punjab Ahmad Awais has been stopped from working and he could not be able to represent the newly-elected provincial government in the courts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday, quoting sources.

The sources further divulged that the advocate general Punjab has also switched off his mobile phone after being stopped from working.

The sources said the new government will soon announce a replacement of Ahmad Awais.

Earlier, after announcing yesterday to challenge the Lahore High Court ruling, Punjab Advocate General Ahmad Awais was now in a fix over what to do as there are legal hitches involved in the case that bar AG to contest the verdict of LHC directing president to appoint a representative for oath-taking of chief minister-elect Hamza Shehbaz.

On Friday, LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti ordered President of Pakistan to appoint a representative for administering oath to Punjab chief minister-elect as Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema had expressed his inability to do so.

But the Punjab governor directed the advocate general to submit an intra-court appeal against the verdict.

Though the AG announced that he would throw a challenge but after seeing legal hitches that would deter him to challenge the decision, he is in a bind to find a way out.

According to legal experts, how the governor could file an appeal when he was not even a party in the verdict announced by the Lahore High Court.
