PTI rally deferred fearing another May 9, says Imran Khan

PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has said that the Tarnol public rally was deferred as they feared another May 9 like situation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking informally to newsmen at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Friday, Imran Khan said “We feared violence so we opted to postpone the rally.”

He further said “It was the last deferment. Now they have given us permission to hold rally on September 8 and the government would be responsible if it tried to stop the rally again.”

“I am telling the PTI that it should not tolerate any hurdle on September 8,” he said.

Talking to journalists, PTI founder said he has issued directives for all party workers and leaders to hold a meeting before September 8 and decide how to protest if the orders of the Supreme Court are not implemented. Imran Khan clearly told his party leaders and workers to get ready for next rally and there will be no postponement in future.

To a question about General Faiz Hameed’s open trial and reply by the establishment that who was Imran Khan to demand the open trial of a military man. PTI founder said that “I was demanding open trial of Faiz because I am was head of one of the largest political party. Moreover, you are blaming that PTI made May 9 conspiracy along with General Faiz”.

Imran Khan said that he started political career from zero and he made 28 years political struggle within the constitution.

Imran Khan “demand that as you (establishment) said General Faiz was involved in May 9 conspiracy then you should make open trial of him”.

PTI founder said “it was neither military nor secret internal issue”. Imran khan said “if we had acted on the recommendations of Hamood-ur-Rehman Commission then there would have been true democracy in the country”.

PTI founder said “the open trial of General Faiz would be useful for the country as it was in the case of action on Hamood-ur-Rehman Commission’s recommendations”.

Imran Khan said if then government had acted on Hamood-ur-Rehman Commission report, there would not been three martial laws and today’s unannounced martial law in the country.

He said “May 9 incident was a blatant attack on democracy and he was demanding judicial commission so that next time no one can do such act in future”.

About Azam Swati’s meeting with him late night, Imran Khan refused to answer the question.

To a question that in a video Aleema Khan claimed Imran Khan did not ask to postpone the rally and the party leaders postponed the rally in his name. what is your position? Imran Khan said, “The entire party was angry about the postponement of the rally. I also think that the rally should not have been postponed”.

PTI founder made it clear that PTI will hold rallies in all districts in future at all cost. To a question whether federal government gave you a message in the jail that you should postpone rally otherwise political environment of the country will destroy, Imran Khan said he has not held any talks with Form 47 government.

Imran Khan said “whenever PTI and establishment try to come near, the government immediately recalls May 9 mayhem”.

PTI founder claimed that Nawaz Sharif was ready to leave for London.

Imran Khan said “all this is happening for the extension of Chief Justice Faiz Isa”. He said two games were being played by the government, if the govt failed to give Faiz Issa an extension, then the government will bring changes in judges seniority law and bring its own man.

PTI founder made it clear that “PTI will not accept both situation and there will be massive protests across the country”.

A journalist questioned that angels met you last night, what happened that you started getting inside news in a single night? Imran Khan said that “whenever you see disturbance in PML-N ranks, understand that they are worried because PTI have spoken to the Eestablishment”.

Imran said, “I have not spoken to any government official regarding the rally, he thought there may be chaos in the country, on which he decided to postpone the rally”.

Imran Khan said it was upto the judiciary, whether it allows PTI to hold rally after the administration canceled the NOC. He said “PTI is the only party in the country which is not getting permission to hold rally in Islamabad”.
