JCP recommends Justice Afghan’s elevation to SC, Justice Shahzad as LHC CJ

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has recommended the elevation of Balochistan High Court (BHC) Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan to the Supreme Court and appointment of Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan as chief justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa chaired the JCP meeting which was held in Islamabad on Friday.
Both the recommendations were made with the consensus of the JCP members.
The recommendations have now been forwarded to the Parliamentary Committee for Judges for final approval.
