$8b iron ore reserves are located near Chiniot: Minister

Punjab Caretaker Minister Ibrahim Murad has disclosed that iron ore reserves worth 8 billion dollars are located near Chiniot District, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chairing a meeting regarding Punjab Mineral Company in Lahore on Saturday, the minister maintained that as per the vision of the Punjab chief minister investment of about Rs300 billion is expected in the mining sector of Pakistan.
Ibrahim Murad said through the investment Punjab is going to become centre of economic development and the first phase of the Chiniot Minister Project will be useful for next 40 years.
He said the search for mineral in Chiniot has so far located 250 million tons of iron ore reserves. An HRC steel mill can be built in Pakistan to deal with such a quantity of iron ore, he added.
