In a police encounter near Kashmir Chowk within the jurisdiction of Islamabad's Secretariat Police Station, three car thieves were killed on the spot, while a female accomplice was injured and subsequently arrested.
The 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday that the injured female car lifter was admitted to the hospital for treatment after her arrest at the crime scene.
According to police sources, a group of four car thieves was entering Islamabad from Murree.
Upon receiving information about their entry, the police had set up checkpoints.
As soon as the car thieves saw the police, the car lifters gang started firing.
In the exchange of fire, three car thieves were killed on the spot, and their female accomplice was injured.
The police recovered a stolen vehicle from Lahore, weapons, and several vehicle number plates from the custody of the car thieves.
