FBR freezes railways bank accounts; recovers Rs27.4m

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) froze the bank accounts of Pakistan Railways and recovered Rs27.4 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
It is learnt that the Pakistan Railways defaulted on Rs353 million of the FBR in terms of income tax for the year 2016.
The FBR recovered Rs27.4 million from the accounts of the Pakistan Railways.
The recovery was made by freezing the railway accounts in the MM Alam Road branch of the National Bank.
The bank accounts of Pakistan Railways were frozen on the instructions of Commissioner Enforcement-2 Naeem Babar.
Deputy Commissioner Anam Tahir, Inspector Syed Naeem Abbas, Syed Waqas Ahmed, and Syed Mujtaba Haider were part of the team.
