A Special Inquiry Report into Prime Minister Calf Farming scheme found little transparency in spending huge chunks of money to assist farmers’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The special report analysed Lahore, Faisalabad and Jhang case studies and it was found that there were discrepancies in spending on the Rs1 billion scheme launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Director General of Directorate General Monitoring and Evaluation Punjab submitted a report to the Punjab Chief Minister office in this regard.

The report maintained that the Livestock Department distributed Rs700 million among farmers but there was no online record of that.

The report further revealed that small animals were registered as per the scheme but it was not as per the PC-1 standard.

“There were many complexities in the data compiled by the Livestock Department,” the report maintained.

The report said that farmers were not advised and guided by the department as well about the scheme.

About 75 percent of people were satisfied by the Livestock Department’s performance and 25 percent were unsatisfied.
