Bird hit forces plane make emergency landing at Lahore Airport

An AirSial flight PA-142 escaped major disaster when a bird collided with the plane soon after take-off from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA) on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The pilot demonstrated his skills by landing the plane safely with none of the all 180 passengers was hurt.
The plane was en-route to Karachi when the bird strike interrupted the flight. Due to the incident captain of the plane lost contact with the Control Tower for some time.
Later, the pilot safely landed the plane back at the airport and the passengers were shifted to airport’s lounge.
Bird-hit incidents on the rise
Despite presence of bird-shooters in the jurisdiction of the airport, Lahore became top city which reported higher bird-hit incidents of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) planes as compared with other cities.
Karachi and Islamabad achieved second while Multan ranked third in bird-hit incidents.
Pakistan International Airlines already finalized a comprehensive report from January to September 2024.
According to the report, 23 planes were hit by the birds at Allama Iqbal International Airport while one bird-hit incident each was reported from Madinah, Jeddah and Dubai airports.
During the nine months, the PIA registered 83 bird-plane collision incidents while due to technical fault in engine the national carrier also suffered losses.
