Karachi GPOs to serve as Nadra kiosks

The facilities of renewal of ID cards and other services of Nadra have been provided to the public in 10 general post offices (GPO) in Karachi, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

The citizens of Karachi have been provided with facilities like card renewal, correction in marital status, addresses,  signatures etc.

Counters have been set up in the GPOs equipped with devices connected to the Nadra system for the provision of the facilities.

ID cards can be renewed from the post office after a year of expiration.

The Nadra authorities stated that the biometric facility for blood relations is not yet available in the post offices and the form must be renewed by a grade-16 officer. The facility of family registration certificate (FRC) and B-form issuance is also not available at the GPOs as of yet. It was also stated that the contract between the post offices and Nadra is of 10 years. Proper functioning will start the next week.
