The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) failed to implement the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) on the issue of allotment of reserved seats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) immediately, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Monday.

According to the sources, the legal team has submitted their proposals to the Election Commission and advised to avoid implementing the SC's reserved seats ruling as it will be a 'Contempt of Parliament.'

The legal team told the commission that implementation of the Supreme Court's decision would create complications as this decision may affect the Election Amendment Act.

The legal experts have pointed out that bypassing an Act of Parliament would amount to contempt of Parliament and could create a legal quagmire.

As a result, the team has recommended that the ECP seek further clarification and guidance from the Supreme Court before taking any steps.

The legal experts have also suggested that the ECP consider approaching the Supreme Court again to explain the complexities in the matter.

The channel reported that an important consultative meeting has been called by the ECP to discuss the legal team's suggestions, and a final decision is expected today.
