Waseem Akram wants PCB to make Muzaffarabad international venue

The King of Swing and ex-captain of Pakistan, Wasim Akram, Wednesday pitched for making Muzaffarabad an international venue for cricketing activities considering the perfect environment and the picturesque nature of Kashmir, reported 24NewsHD TV channel
He also asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to work on these lines and should start with conducting national under-19 cricket on the venue.
Talking to the media in Muzaffarabad about the Kashmir premier league (KPL), he said he was really impressed by the natural beauty that is abundant in Kashmir, the food and the hospitality of the people.
However, Wasim, who is in Muzaffarabad for coaching The Mirpur Royals team for Kashmir Premier League, pointed out that it is the 21st century and the tourists will not get attracted to this heaven if mobile phones and the internet do not work.
Wasim said that he only faced one problem of no connectivity and broken roads and suggested that the local governments should work on that.
He said, otherwise, he is very amazed by the beauty of nature, the food, the guesthouses, and the hospitable and welcoming nature of the locals.
He said that the ground staff of the stadium has worked very hard during the whole league and he has never ever seen such a beautiful arena and it should be upgraded.
On a question about his descendants in the cricketing world, he jokingly said that he has two sons.
He said that Pakistan have been blessed with Shaheen Afridi being the best bowler in the world who is very unfortunately injured and could not be in the play for the Asia Cup.
The 56-year-old humbly said that he is really grateful that the people still love him very much even after 20 years of his retirement from the game.
