28 Pakistani pilgrims, who had died in road mishap in Iran, laid to rest in Sindh cities  

As many as 28 devotees, who had lost their lives in the Iranian city of Yazd in a bus accident, were buried in their native towns and cities in Sindh on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The bodies of the devotees, who belonged to Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Karachi and Khairpur, had been brought back to Pakistan last night onboard Pakistan’s C-130 aircraft and were later sent to their native areas.

23 people, who had been injured in the incident, also reached Jacobabad onboard the same plane.

Six devotees, five from the same family, namely Rustam Ali, Kariman Khatoon, Kainat Khatoon, Saadia Khatoon, Reema Khatoon and Syed Seerat Abbas were buried in Kandhkot.

Earlier, their funeral prayers were offered at Primary School-I.

The deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner of Kandhkot, AC Tangwani Sardar Mohsin Khan Sehryani, members of the Shiite Ulema Council, relatives of the deceased and a large number of ordinary citizens attended the prayers.  

Two pilgrims buried near Naudero in Larkana

Similarly, two devotees namely Afaq Ahmad Junejo and Mohsin Ali Junejo were laid to rest in a village near Naudero in Larkana.

A large number of people attended their funeral prayers.    

Eight other devotees, also from Larkana district, namely Kashif Ali Sheikh, Habibullah Soomro, Wafa Abbas, Imran Ali Kalhoro, Salman Mustafa Sheikh, Zahid Ali Soomro and Ambreen Shah, were also buried.

Pilgrims buried in Shikarpur

Likewise, there was a state of mourning in Shikarpur as soon as the bodies of the devotees reached the city.  

Three laid to rest in Qambar Shahdadkot

Three pilgrims, two women and a child, who had lost their lives in the tragedy, were buried in Qambar Shahdadkot.

The deceased were Naseem Akhtar, Rahmat and Muntazir Mehdi.

Four buried in Khairpur

Similarly, four pilgrims namely Ijaz Manghnar, Asif Sirki, Syed Bashir Shah and Muhammad Bux Khaskheli were buried in Khairpur.

Earlier their funeral prayers were offered at Pilot School.

Everybody was in tears as soon as the bodies reached the city.   

Last night, the remains of 28 Pakistani pilgrims, who had lost their lives in the unfortunate bus accident in neighbouring Iran's Yazd city, were brought back to Pakistan. 

As many as 28 Pakistanis were killed when a bus carrying pilgrims participating in Arbaeen crashed into a wall and overturned due to speeding and brake failure near the Taftan-Dehshir checkpoint. Several others were injured as the vehicle caught fire after the accident.

A Pakistani C-130 aircraft carrying the bodies and 18 injured persons took off from Yezd airport at 6:00 pm Pakistani time and arrived at Shahbaz Airport, Jacobabad at 8.30 pm.

Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, officials, and several relatives of victims received the remains of the martyrs.
