Punjab to cancel registration of vehicles not transferred in buyers’ names

The Excise Department, Lahore has decided to cancel the registration of all such vehicles whose purchasers have so far not got them transferred in their names, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Director Motors Chaudhry Asif has said that a buyer is bound to get the vehicle transferred in his name within 30 days.

He has said that during the ongoing year so far over 1, 600 owners of such vehicles have requested for the cancellation of their registration because of this reason. “Presently, thousands of cars are plying on the city roads which have not been transferred in their buyers’ names as yet,” he has said, adding such vehicles are a security risk and also cause loss to the national exchequer.
