Punjab CM orders inspection of all govt, private vehicles under anti-smog plan

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered to inspect all government and private vehicles under the anti-smog plan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to a notification issued by Punjab government, fitness certificate has been made mandatory for all vehicles across Punjab.

Small and large vehicles will have to obtain a certificate from the Fitness Certificate Authority.

Orders have been sent to the secretaries of all provincial ministries and all commissioners across Punjab.

Fitness certificates should be obtained for all vehicles used by all ministries and their sub-departments, text of Punjab government notification said.

The Punjab government has set a deadline of January 30, directing all ministries and departments to inspect vehicles by this date.

One reason for smog is vehicle smoke and the increasing number of vehicles is mounting the negative impact on the environment and human life.
