CDA yet to recover Rs58b from ‘defaulter’ govt depts

The Interior Minister Monday said a number of federal institutions were defaulters of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) worth over Rs58 billion, reported 24NewsHD channel.
Interior Ministry submitted the details, about the defaulter institutions, before the federal cabinet.
According to the sources, Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), WASA, universities and Radio Pakistan were among the defaulters.
Sources said that the CDA has been facing an immense difficulties to recovering these arrears.
The CDA sought legal permission to cancel allotments and seal the defaulter premises.
CDA has been given permission to shift Rs1.90 billion from Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) to CDA.
