Ripe cotton and sugarcane crops were majorly damaged in Sakrand Nawabshah due to a 30-foot-wide crevice caused by rains and floods, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Excessive rains in Sakrand tehsil of Nawabshah caused a 30–foot–wide crack in the canal.
The locals have been trying to fix the fissure themselves as the irrigation department did not do anything about the matter.
As the crops in the region depend mainly on the canal for proper irrigation, the ripe and ready-to-be-harvested crops have taken major damage and are exposed to complete destruction.
