NAB recovers more money in PTI tenure than previous govts: Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the last three years, from 2018 to 2020, tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) recovered Rs 484 billion in contrast to only Rs 290 billion recovered during 1999 to 2017, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Earlier, National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal presided over a meeting to review the performance of the accountability bureau at its headquarters.
The meeting was told that from 2018 to 2020, some 43 offenders had been penalised and billions of rupees had been deposited in the national exchequer under the NAB ordinance section 10.
Director General NAB Lahore Major (R) Shehzad Salim told the meeting that Nab Lahore had got the 28 criminals punished and fined Rs 1180.44 million. The NAB chairman expressed his satisfaction with NAB Lahore under the leadership of DG Major (R) Shehzad Salim.
