Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that these days inflation in the country was so high that a common man could not make his both ends meet, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing the party workers at Murree, he wondered how on earth could a man earning between Rs20,000 and Rs25,000 fulfill his as well as his family’s needs.

He said that during the PTI government, poor people would often go without food.

Nawaz said he was ousted from power thrice; first in 1993, then in 1999 and then in 2017. “Is this the way countries are run?” he questioned.

“I was disqualified by the Supreme Court for not receiving salary from my son,” he said, adding what happened after my disqualification was complete devastation of the country.

The former prime minister said that it was when he was the prime minister in 1998 that he preferred exploding nukes to receiving $5 billion from the USA. “And it was under the PML-N government that Pakistan’s name was removed from the grey list,” he added.

“Not only that new projects were launched when I was the prime minister, but also those which had been left unfinished by the previous governments were completed,” he said, adding, “Power projects, which previously took 20 years to complete, were completed in just one-and-a-half years under the PML-governments.”

Nawaz said he was glad to meet the party workers.

He went on to say that his association with the people of Murree was decades old. “I would come to Murree with my family even when I was at school,” he said, and added, “Murree is my second home.”

“I still remember those buses which used to ply on Murree roads in the past,” he reminisced.

Nawaz Sharif is Pakistan’s only leader, says Maryam Nawaz

Maryam Nawaz, PML-N’s Chief Organizer and daughter of former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, said on Thursday that if anybody was a leader in Pakistan it was Nawaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing the party workers at Murree with Nawaz Sharif sitting alongside her, she said Nawaz would demonstrate his love for the nation during his five-year stint as the country’s prime minister.

She regretted that the former prime minister had to stay away from the country because of his health issues. “I have an idea what it is like without health facilities,” she added.
