Punjab govt to fine plaza owners who violate parking rules

The Punjab government has decided to take legal action against the plaza and building owners who violate the parking rules and regulations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Lahore Development Authority chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday.
It was decided in the meeting that the violators would be fined at the rate of 0.5% of the DC Property Rate. The building owners who do not open parking within the stipulated period will be fined Rs 10,000 per kanal.
The meeting also approved amendments to the LDA Building and Zoning Rules and Regulations to ensure the implementation of the parking agreement in the meeting.
In order to solve the traffic problems in Lahore, approval was also given in principle for the construction of U-turns and slip roads at seven intersections.
Approval for the construction of protected U-turns between Canal Road Harbanspura and Jallo was also given.
