Journalists rally against suspension of 24NewsHD transmission  

Journalists Saturday staged a demonstrator outside Karachi Press Club on against suspension of 24news transmission and a television reporter’s disappearance.

The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists gave the protest call, feeling strong concerns for media persons.   Opposition parties and civil society showed solidarity with the media.

PPP leader Khursheed Shah said the sin committed by the TV channel was to air the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally.

Describing the suspension of 24NewsHD transmission as a great injustice, Khursheed said those raising their voice were being punished in the country. “Freedom of expression is under threat in the country.

After the protest, Karachi Press Club President Imtiyaz Faran presided over a meeting of media body reps to devise future plan.
