Punjab arrests 9 people involved in illegal hunting of wild animals

The wildlife department Monday conducted operations to prevent illegal hunting of wild animals across the province of Punjab arresting nine hunters, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Wildlife department arrested nine hunters involved in hunting wild parrots, rare falcons and other birds.

The operations to prevent the illegal hunting of wild animals and birds are being conducted across the province on the directions of Punjab Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Shahid Zaman and Punjab Wildlife and Parks Director General Mubeen Elahi.

Four of the arrested hunters have been fined Rs43000 whereas strict action for opposing the wildlife act has been taken against the other five.
