A purse, containing iPhone 14, Rs50,000 and other precious items, was stolen from the car of former PML-N MPA Rabia Nusrat in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to reports, the incident, CCTV footage of which has now surfaced, took place in the jurisdiction of North Cantonment police station on September 13.
The footage shows a man picking up a phone from the vehicle and then running away.
Rabia told the police that unidentified motorcyclists started chasing her from the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). “One of the motorcyclists twice hit my vehicle at two different places,” she said, adding, “It was when I was near Central Ordinance Depot that he hit my car for the third time.”
Ex-MPA went on to say that when she stopped her car at a signal, one of the motorcyclists who was already waiting there for her came close to her car, picked up the purse and fled away.
Rabia regretted that despite the passage of 11 days the culprits had not been arrested so far. “The case has already been registered against unidentified persons,” she said, adding, “Thieves can be identified with the help of footage obtained from a CCTV camera.”
