Renowned TV actor Nisar Qadri has passed away at the age of 82, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
His illustrious career, which began with the iconic drama "Dewarain" in 1966, spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark on the world of Pakistani Radio and television.
A stalwart of the entertainment industry, Nisar Qadri's artistic journey reached new heights in 2016 when he was honored with the Presidential “Pride of Performance” for his outstanding contributions to the field of performing arts.
Qadri started his career in 1966 at Radio Pakistan, Rawalpindi.
Later, he starred in numerous TV dramas, movies, and radio plays. In the TV play "Aik Haqeeqat Aik Afsana", his catchy phrase "Machis hogi aap ke paas?" (Would you have a matchbox?) went viral among the viewers.
Qadri suffered from facial palsy during the mid-2010s and was absent from the screen during this time.
His commitment to his craft and the authenticity he brought to his roles made him a beloved figure among audiences.
Having bid adieu to his fans and colleagues, Nisar Qadri leaves behind a rich legacy of memorable performances.
His notable work not only shaped the landscape of Pakistani television but also inspired generations of aspiring actors.
Naseer Qadri was survived by a wife and three children. His departure is deeply mourned by both the entertainment industry and his loved ones.
The funeral prayers for the late actor will be held tomorrow morning in Rawalpindi.
