PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has rued neither NAB lawyers attend the court hearings nor do they respond while reiterating his position that he is innocent, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
While addressing media persons after attending a court hearing in Lahore on Friday, the opposition leader in the National Assembly lambasted the government for making false cases against him.
He said the government was trying to humiliate him in front of the whole nation. “I am being punished for saving billions of public money,” he said adding that he would keep answering their questionnaires.
He remarked like an addict, he was addicted to serving people and saving public money.
He said NAB had summoned him in a dungeon in Oct 2018. Companies tried to implicate him but they failed, he added. He said the authorities summoned him in the Clean Water reference but they started trying him in the Ashiyana Scheme.
He said the court exonerated all accused in this case. He stated that authorities linked him to the false Clean Water case. He claimed that authorities made lucrative offers to people who were ready to bring false evidence.
He rued that the NAB lawyers eschewed court hearing and they did not respond to it. He remarked that he was innocent saying that even the UK’s investigation agencies also absolved him in all cases.
He said if corruption cases were proved against him, his body should be hanged after death.
He claimed that corruption was being committed in the aisles of Parliament. The nation will hold the rulers accountable for every penny, he added.
He said that the Niazi-NAB nexus failed to prove anything against him.
He believed that no-confidence motion was voice of the nation.
He expressed his gratitude for those who were suggesting his name for prime ministersip saying everything was in the hands of Allah.
