Punjab chief minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered to make a comprehensive plan to adopt austerity measures in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV.

He was presiding over the 7th Provincial Cabinet meeting held here at the CM office on Saturday. 

The cabinet appreciated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s austerity policy for the financial year 2022-23. 

The cabinet approved that the austerity committee will ensure the implementation of measures at all levels in the province.

The austerity committee will present practicable suggestions to CM Mohsin for saving and the austerity of government resources. 

It was decided in the meeting that the caretaker chief minister and provincial ministers will lead the front and set an example in terms of frugality and saving. 

The cabinet also decided to donate one to three days’ salaries of the officers to quake-hit brethren of Turkey and Syria.   

According to the cabinet decision, BS-22 officers will donate three days, BS-21 and 20 officers two days, and BS-19 and 18 officers will donate one day's salary to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

The cabinet also proposed to fix the minimum support price of wheat at Rs 3900. 

The meeting gave its nod in principle or setting up of Foreign Funded Project Committee to ensure speedy completion of the projects. 

During the meeting, it was agreed to lease the government land on a single source basis for corporate agriculture farming. The leased land can only be used for agricultural purposes only. 

The meeting gave its approval to a supplementary grant of Rs 400 million for the police martyrs. 

The meeting allowed the entering into a contract with Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Trust for building regional blood centers in Multan, Bahawalpur, and Faisalabad. 

A new emergency block will be built in Allied Hospital Faisalabad with the support of Friends of Allied Hospital. 

The meeting presided over by the Chief Minister gave go head for the construction of a new emergency block in Allied Hospital Faisalabad. 

The cabinet also approved changing the name of the Tourism Department to the Tourism, Archeology, and Museum Department. 

Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Secretaries, and concerned officials attended the meeting.

Provincial Ministers SM Tanveer and Dr. Jamal Nasir participated in the meeting through a video link.
