According to the ISPR, the members of the security forces were attacked when they were on a routine patrolling near Pidarak area of District Kech, about 35 kilometres south-east of Turbat in Balochistan.

Exchange of firing also took place which resulted in the martyrdom of Lance Naik Javed Karim while three other soldiers got injured. The security forces personnel cordoned off the area and launched a hunt for the terrorists.
