Flooding alert issued for low-lying areas; possible landslides in AJK, KP and GB; people advised to be careful while travelling
Most parts of the country are likely to experience rain with gusty winds and thunderstorm, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The Meteorological Department has issued alerts of flooding in low-lying areas and landsliding in the mountains of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
Islamabad Weather
The federal capital is expected to remain cloudy with intermittent rain, according to the Meteorological Department.
Punjab Weather
In Punjab, more rain with strong winds and thunderstorm is expected in Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal, Pakpattan, Vehari and Rajanpur, according to the Meteorological Department.
Similarly, more rain with gusty winds and thunderstorm is expected in Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha and Khanpur.
Areas including Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sahiwal, Okara and Gujranwala are expected to receive rain with gusty winds and thunderstorm.
Similarly, areas including Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali and Hafizabad are also expected to receive more rain with strong winds and thunderstorm.
Besides, heavy rain is also expected at some places in Punjab, according to the Meteorological Department.
Sindh Weather
In Sindh, areas including Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Mithi, Thatta, Badin and Umarkot are likely to experience heavy rain with gusty winds and thunderstorm, according to the Meteorological Department.
Heavy rain with gusty winds and thundershower is likely at some places in Tharparkar, Dadu, Sukkur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Khairpur and Naushahro Feroze.
There is also a possibility of heavy rain with strong winds and thundershower at some places in Shahdadpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Padidan, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jamshoro.
Balochistan Weather
In Balochistan, more rain with strong winds and thundershower is expected in Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Loralai, Bolan, Kohlu, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Nasirabad and Jafarabad.
Similarly, more rain with gusty winds and thundershower is expected in Sibi, Mastung, Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Awaran, Kharan, Dalbandin, Panjgur, Turbat, Ormara, Pasni, Jiwani and Gwadar.
There is also a possibility of heavy rain at some places in Balochistan.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, areas including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan and Haripur are likely to receive more rain with strong winds and thundershower, according to the Meteorological Department.
Similarly, more rains with gusty winds and thundershower are likely in Buner, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Peshawar, Khyber, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan.
AJK & GB Weather
Rain with strong winds and thunderstorm is likely in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), according to the Meteorological Department.
Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain cloudy with gusty winds and thundershower.
Alert for Low-Lying Areas
The low-lying areas of Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro and Mirpurkhas are likely to be inundated due to heavy rain.
Similarly, the low-lying areas of Dadu, Umarkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Lahore, Gujranwala, DG Khan and Sargodha are also likely to be inundated.
The low-lying areas of DI Khan, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan are also likely to be inundated.
Flooding Alert
There is also a risk of flooding in the hills and local streams of Zhob, Loralai, Barkhan, Kohlu, Musa Khel, Sherani, Sibi, Bolan and Dera Ghazi Khan, according to the Meteorological Department.
Landslide Alert
There is also a risk of landslide in Kashmir, Galyat, Murree, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Chilas, Diamer, Gilgit, Hunza, Astor and Skardu, according to the Meteorological Department.
Travel Advisory
The travellers and tourists are advised to travel according to the weather conditions. Passengers should be extra careful while travelling, said the Meteorological Department
