The Islamabad High Court has reserved its verdict on the maintainability of the petition filed by former premier and PTI Chairman Imran Khan against the FIA call-up notice to him in connection with the investigation into the cypher issue, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IHC Chief Justice, Justice Aamer Farooq conducted the case proceedings on Tuesday. After hearing arguments from the lawyer, the judge reserved his verdict on the admissibility of the plea.
During the hearing, PTI chairman’s lawyer Latif Khosa told the court that they were asked to move to the Islamabad High Court as the call-up notice was issued from the federal capital. He said that his client has basically challenged a July 19 call-up notice of the Federal Investigation Agency.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that he was a former prime minister and did not know why the FIA summoned him.
Khosa told the court that our “badass” interior minister was saying that Imran would be arrested at the time of inquiry.
After listening to the lawyer’s arguments, the court reserved its judgment on the petition.
It bears mentioning that the FIA has summoned former prime minister Imran Khan at 11m today for cypher investigation. But the PTI chairman did not appear before it.
The investigation agency had also summoned former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar yesterday for the cypher probe.
A Joint Investigation Team of the FIA grilled Qureshi and Umar for almost two hours yesterday.
The FIA sent a third call-up notice to PTI Chief Imran Khan with regard to cypher investigations.
