Punjab government has decided to introduce rules to improve cab rider services and in this regard Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has called for a plan to improve the services provider sector, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A delegation of online cab service provider Careem met with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday.
The delegation included Careem’s country general manager Imran Salim and other senior executives.
Suggestions for better employment opportunities for youth especially women and safety of woman drivers and riders were discussed in the meeting.
It was also discussed in the meeting to provide better transportation facilities to people through information technology.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif instructed to ensure the use of safety gear for Careem bike riders in all cases.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that government is expanding the scope of free Wi-Fi project after Lahore and Kasur.
Free Wi-Fi will make it easier for citizens especially women to get online transport, Maryam Nawaz said.
Maryam Nawaz said that the Punjab government will encourage every initiative that leads to business activity and employment generation.
In this regard, Imran Saleem said that Careem is committed to providing safe, reliable and quality transport services to the people of Punjab.
Senator Pervez Rasheed and other officials participated the meeting.
