Punjab Govt opens medicines mega warehouse in Lahore

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the country’s first mega warehouse for medicines has been made operation in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


The main medicine warehouse which has been set up in the Maraka area in Lahore can store more than 17 billion medicine and equipment.


Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the central warehouse and inaugurated the project of providing free medicines in district hospitals. On the occasion, the Chief Minister formally launched the medicine supply project by driving a forklift and dispatching trucks to the districts under her supervision.


Chief Minister inspected the furniture, medical equipment and other equipment provided to the hospitals. She checked the medicines and standard temperature system in the warehouse.


Maryam Nawaz said the new state-of-the-art warehouse will enable the storage and delivery of medicines at standardized temperatures. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed to set up such warehouses in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan regions.


Senator Parvez Rasheed, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Zahid Bukhari, Provincial Ministers for Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Dr. Adnan Khan, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Health Ali Jan, Secretary Information Ahmed Aziz Tarr and others were present on the occasion.
