Woman gives birth in washroom of Hafizabad DHQ Hospital

The Punjab government’s lofty announcement regarding the provision of state-of-the-art health facilities in public sector hospitals was exposed when a woman gave birth to a child in the washroom of the District Headquarters Hospital in Hafizabad.

Her husband told media that the family reached the hospital early on Monday morning but the medics did not bother to their requests.

He alleged that when his woman’s condition deteriorated, the staff ordered her to go to the washroom where she became a mother.

Moreover, the family complained that they were asked to purchase medicines from the market.

The victim's family while staging a protest demonstration against the negligence of the government hospital staff, urged the concerned authorities to take notice of the issue and held all the concerned officials and doctors to account.
