Maj-Gen (R) Hafeezur Rehman posted as PTA Chairman  

The federal cabinet has appointed Major General (R) Hafeezur Rehman as Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Interestingly, yesterday, the federal cabinet also gave the go-ahead for the appointment of Major General (R) Hafeezur Rehman as Member Administration PTA.

Another post of Member Administration has been created in the PTA, taking the number of admin members to four from three.

The approval was sought from the federal cabinet to advertise the post for which the federal government amended the PTA Act and Rules.

The PTA takes decisions with a majority of members. The member will have the authority to cast a vote and if the votes are equal, the chairman will cast a vote.

So now he has been promoted and appointed as the chairman of the PTA and the cabinet division has issued a notification of his appointment with immediate effect.
