Local players’ categories renewed for PSL 2023

The categories of eight Pakistani players have been upgraded following the local player category renewal process for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also opened the registration window for foreign players.
The renewal player lists have been shared with the six franchises for the tournament to be played across four venues from 9 February to 19 March 2023.

The players include Mohammad Wasim Junior (Islamabad United, from Gold to Diamond), Shahnawaz Dahani and Shan Masood (Multan Sultans, from Gold to Diamond), Haider Ali and Mohammad Haris (Peshawar Zalmi; Haider from Diamond to Platinum, Haris from Silver to Gold), and Mohammad Nawaz and Naseem Shah (Quetta Gladiators; Nawaz from Diamond to Platinum, Naseem from Gold to Diamond).
While Aamer Jamal, who will represent Peshawar Zalmi is another player, whose category has been upgraded. Out of eight, seven players are part of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Some players have been demoted in categories,
Hasan Ali (Platinum to Diamond at Islamabad United), Faheem Ashraf (Diamond to Gold), Sohaib Maqsood (Multan Sultans, Diamond to Gold) Wahab Riaz (Peshawar Zalmi, Platinum to Diamond) and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed (Quetta Gladiators, Platinum to Gold).
