CCTV footage showed the burqa-clad woman standing outside the Confucius Institute blew herself up when the van carrying Chinese nationals passed by.
Rescuers, lawmen, and a bomb disposal squad reached the spot and started an investigation. Rangers are also seen coming on a motorcycle. Reports said lawmen too sustained injuries in the attack.
Although a banned outfit from Baluchistan claimed the responsibility, the woman’s identity has not been ascertained so far.
The Bomb Disposal Squad prepared a preliminary probe report, stating that up to four kg of explosive material was used in the blast.
