Devotees flocking to shrine of Baba Ganj Shakar 

Devotees have been flocking to the shrine of a noted saint of the subcontinent, Hazrat Baba Faridud Din Ganj Shakar, to join the Urs commemorations in Pakpattan.

The government allowed a special event, opening of the Bahishti Darwaza, for two days in wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, a court that was moved for opening of the Bahishti Darwaza for traditional five nights appreciated the government for letting the event happen and rejected the plea.

A display of fireworks and ritual performing followed the start of the event. The lawmen have stepped up security to avert untoward incidents 

A Covid-19 awareness campaign has already underway to make the faithful abide by safety measures under standard operating procedures.
