Four people sacrificed at altar of ‘honour’ in Wazirabad and Shikarpur

A man sacrificed his wife and their teenage daughter at the altar of ‘honour’ in Pak Town Rahim Pura area of Wazirabad. While another couple was shot dead in Shikarpur on the pretext of saving family honour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

In the first incident, accused Bilal first struck his wife and 13-year-old daughter with an axe, injuring them seriously. But seeing them still alive, he pulled his pistol and shot them dead.

He was suspicious of their chastity.

When he was fleeing the house after killing his wife and daughter, his neighbours who were alerted by the gunshots tried to get hold of him. But he managed to flee.

Police reached the crime scene and started collecting evidence.

In another incident, police arrested two accused who committed double murder in the name of ‘honour’ within the limits of Garhi Yaseen police station in Shikarpur.

They also recovered murder weapon from their possession and registered a case against them.

Police received a report yesterday that a girl and a young man were killed for honour. They reached the venue and took the dead bodies into their custody. After taking preliminary action, they shifted the bodies to a local hospital for postmortem.

Shikarpur SSP Amjad Ahmad Sheikh took serious notice of the murders and directed the SHO to arrest the culprits.

The accused after committing murder were fleeing when the police arrested them near village Maro Kakipto.

Police said that the accused shot dead Ms Aroosa Kakipoto and Amir Lashari on the pretext of saving family honour.

The arrested accused included the murdered girl’s uncle Hafiz Rehman and cousin Shoaib Kakipoto.

The accused confessed to their crime during investigation.

Further investigations are underway.
