‘Newlywed’ Algerian footballer succumbs to heart attack during match

Algerian footballer Sofiane Lokar has died after suffering a heart attack on the pitch while playing on Christmas Day, as he have been married last week, reported 24NewsHD TV on Sunday.
The 30-year-old collapsed while captaining Mouloudia Saida for the Algerian second division.
As per the media reports, Lokar was injured in the 26th minute of a match against ASM Oran after a collision with his own goalkeeper.
Lokar was treated for injury and later cleared to return to action.
But just nine minutes later, in the 35th minute, Lokar suddenly collapsed to the ground.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the team was unable to save the footballer, as he succumbed to a heart attack.
Reports indicate that Lokar's first injury was to the head, but he was unable to continue before the tragedy occurred.
