Mai Dhai makes it to Times Square

Mai Dhai, a famous Pakistani classical singer yesterday was seen on Times Square, the world-famous billboard which showcases different brands and most displayed artists and is one of the most crowded places in the world.
Spotify Pakistan celebrated Dhai's appearance at Times Square by adding an Instagram post with the caption that reads:
“Koyal jaisi awaaz pohanchi seedha Times Square” (A voice like cuckoo reaches to the Times Square).

Mai Dhai originates from the Tharparkur region of the Sindh province and rose to fame from one of her songs ‘Kaid Aao Ni’ from Coke Studio alongside Atif Aslam back in 2015.
The Classical singer belongs to the Manganhar Muslim community, known for its rich musical heritage in Pakistan’s Tharparkar district and India’s Rajasthan state, and was 92 years old at the time of the recording of this song.
She has received tremendous support from the public after performing at various Pakistani festivals.
Her fame skyrocketed back in 2016 when she signed up with Coke Studio and released two major hits; ‘Kadi Aao Ni’ alongside Atif Aslam and ‘Aankhaṛli Phaṛookai’ alongside Karram Abbas.
