ECC releases Rs5b to NDMA for combating coronavirus

The Economic Coordination Committee approved Rs5 billion grant to National Disaster Management (NDMA) to combat the coronavirus in a meeting presided by Advisor to the PM on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
The committee also approved Rs5.5 billion provisional grant for the attainment of the sustainable goals, in addition to the approval of Rs 270 million provisional grant for the ministry of Housing and Works.
In addition, the committee also formed a committee to oversee the privileged package for the National Electric Vehicles Policy. The committee, that includes the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, petroleum authorities and representatives from the concerned ministries, will prepare a comprehensive recommendation within a month.
Another deadline was requested over rupee devaluation that led to the deficit of PSO and other oil companies.
The committee also discussed with Balochistan government over the LPG Airmax projects.
It also approved a provisional grant for NADRA project in FATA.
