Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said Thursday that he himself monitored the security situation all night and noticed the people had completely rejected the band of rioters, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement, the interior minister flayed: “Imran Niazi reneged on his promise with the Supreme Court to hold a rally at a designated place, and he broke his word by announcing to march towards D-Chowk.”

Rana Sanaullah also stated that the metro bus stations and trees were set on fire by the protesters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“Under the shield of the Supreme Court’s decision, the band of rioters continued setting things on fire all night,” he despised, adding that Imran Niazi continued trampling down the Supreme Court orders from his container throughout the night.

“Imran Khan kept announcing contempt of court all night from his container,” he loathed and maintained: “The police did not fire a single rubber bullet. It’s a false propaganda.”

He also stated that at least 18 policemen and Rangers personnel were seriously injured, vowing that Islamabad police and Rangers would continue performing their duty of protecting the life and property of people.

“I pay tribute to every Jawan of Islamabad police and Rangers,” he declared.

“The Supreme Court should issue clear orders for ensuring the write of Constitution and state so that the band of rioters could be expelled from Islamabad and the safety of life and property of the citizens of Islamabad could be ensured,” said the interior minister.

“Rangers and Islamabad police bravely and responsibly guarded the citizens of Islamabad and controlled the band of rioters with tear gas,” added he.

Info minister rules out ‘agreement’ with PTI

Referring to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) long march, Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Thursday there could be no agreement with the party which had announced before its march that it would be bloody, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

She was of the view that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s narrative had been buried.

She went on to claim that the party, which had been rejected by the masses, had at last returned from Islamabad emptyhanded. “Listen carefully, general elections will be held on the desire of the coalition government,” she stated categorically.

Marriyum also ridiculed PTI chairman’s decision to end the march and to return six days later in the event of the government not announcing the date for elections. “Imran, you had planned a long sit-in at D-Chowk. What about your claims about that sit-in,” information minister asked.

Truth of the matter, she claimed, was that Imran did not enjoy the support of masses.
