FIA lodges case against PASSCO officers over unfair Bardana distribution

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has lodged a case against PASSCO officers after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi took notice of embezzlement in distribution of wheat Bardana (gunny bags), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to FIA Lahore Zone, the accused had caused Rs1 billion loss to the national exchequer.

Implementing the interior minister’s orders, the FIR registered a case over embezzlement and irregularities in distribution of the gunny bags, said FIA Director Sarfraz Virk.

The case was lodged against former GM Field Zahoor Ahmad Ranjha, Zonal Head Bahwalnagar Jibran Iqbal and Zonal Head Burewala Rao Muhammad Akram.

Sarfraz Virk said formation investigation into the case has been launched following registration of the case by FIA Lahore Zone. The FIA will collect evidence from Passco centres regarding unfair distribution of Bardana from across the province, he added.
