China says Orange Line Metro another major outcome of ‘CPEC beauty’

China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lijian Zhao in its weekly briefing congratulated Pakistan on the starting of Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) operations in Lahore.

He said, “My warmest congratulations on the Orange Line. Its operation ushers in an era of metro train in Pakistan.”

He said Pakistan has entered an era of metro train projects, he added.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said the completion of Orange Line Metro is another major outcome in CPEC beauty and also demonstration for our all-weather partnership China will continue to work with Pakistan to make the Belt and Road and CPEC project high standard projects.

OLMT project will facilitate 0.25 million people daily and under the project, 27 trains with five bogies each will operate.

The one-way ticket price is fixed at Rs40.

The OLMT route begins at Ali Town and ends at the Dera Gujran/Ring Road Interchange. The main stops are: Ali Town - Raiwind Road - Thokar Niaz Baig - Multan Road - Chauburji - Lake Road - Ustadullah Bakhsh Road - GPO Chowk - McLeod Road - Nicholson Road - Boharwala Chowk - Sultanpura - GT Road - Dera Gujran/Ring Road Interchange.
