Religious scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani in a tweet posted asked to boycott the French products after the republication of the caricature of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He questioned would we still continue to buy, sell, use and import French products after France and its President's remarks against the Holy Prophet (SAW).

“These priests of wealth will learn a lesson only when the Islamic countries will boycott their products,” he further said.

He believed, “Boycotting the French products is the least reaction we can express.”

Don’t play with Muslims religious sentiments

Separately, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi urged that all Muslim countries including Pakistan need to boycott the French products. “French President must not play with the feelings of Muslims,” he added.

He said no religion should ridicule including Islam.

Pervaiz Elahi called for an immediate Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) session as the caricatures are an act of ridicule for the Islamic world.

“Muslims countries need to unite on one point as promoting religious hatred will destroy international peace,” he said. Pervaiz Elahi urged to remove the blasphemous content from Facebook.

Pakistan on Monday summoned the French ambassador in Islamabad, a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted French President Emmanuel Macron of attacking Islam by defending the publication of caricature of the Prophet Muhammed (SAW)

Arab Countries
