Pakistani rupee sheds 7 paisas against US dollar in dull interbank market

The interbank currency market remained dull on Thursday as there was no significant change in the rates of currencies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the State Bank of Pakistan, the Pakistani rupee shed 21 paisas against the greenback and closed the day at Rs280.09.

On Wednesday, the Pakistani rupee had depreciated 0.16% to settle at Rs279.88 against the US dollar.

In a related development, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had slapped penalties worth Rs83.2 million on four banks during the quarter ending September 30, 2023, for non-compliance with legal or regulatory requirements.
