Electricity rates likely to drop by 71 paisas per unit

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request to reduce electricity rates by 71 paisas per unit for consumers across the country, excluding Karachi.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the reduction is proposed under the monthly fuel adjustment for September.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will conduct a hearing on the CPPA's request on October 30.
According to the CPPA, a total of 12.118 billion units of electricity were generated in September, with the production cost standing at Rs9.09 per unit.
The final decision on the proposed reduction of the electricity rates will be made after NEPRA's hearing.
