A CCTV footage of a police shootout that claimed one life has surfaced, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
The footage showed Amir parking his motorcycle when police showed up. Don’t shoot, he cried but the police fired shots at him, leaving him injured critically.
The clip showed the injured Amir making appeals to the police for halting fire but the lawmen sticking to their guns.
Instead of taking him in custody they killed him on the spot and claimed that the deceased was a dacoit. As people gathered at the scene, the policemen managed to escape.
The incident occurred in Gulistan-e-Johar. The mother of the deceased made an appeal for justice. “My son went to buy fruit and medicines. He tied the knot 18 months ago. He was the father of a three-month-old son,” she added.
Later, DIG East Makdisa Haider said two accused policemen were arrested.
A preliminary probe under two SPs found the officials guilty, he said adding that a case will be registered against the officials and the victim's family is being contacted
