Inflation likely to remain 5pc in December: Finance Ministry’s report

Pakistan’s Finance Ministry has said that country’s economy was showing stability sign with remarkable decline in inflation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a monthly report released by Finance Ministry, the inflation rate is likely to remain around 4 to 5 percent in December while economic indicators from July to November were presenting a positive scenario. The report said the fundamentals of the economy have strengthened.
The price of food items seems to be stabilizing and the current account has become surplus while domestic exports and remittances are increasing.
Ministry of Finance said wheat production target has been set at 27.9 million tonnes and steps are being taken to achieve the wheat production target.
From July to November, tax revenues have increased by 23.3 percent. During November 2024, at least 60,492 Pakistanis went abroad for employment.
