Ambreen Jan notified as federal information secretary

The Establishment Division on Friday notified the appointment of Ambreen Jan as Ministry of Information and Broadcasting secretary, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Ambreen, who is a grade-21 officer in the Information Group, was hitherto serving as Director General External Publicity Wing.
Yesterday, 24News TV channel reported that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Shahira Shahid had retired after completing 60 years of government service, while Ambreen Jan would replace her soon.
The Cabinet Secretariat’s Establishment Division issued a notification confirming Ambreen Jan’s appointment to the position of Secretary for Information and Broadcasting.
Prior to this appointment, Ambreen Jan served as the Executive Director General of the External Publicity Wing within the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Her appointment was made under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, the notification added.
