6pc fixed tax imposed on vehicles of above 2000cc

The government has imposed a 6 percent fixed tax on locally manufactured and imported vehicles of above 2000cc, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The locally manufactured vehicles will be taxed at the time of registration while the Customs will collect tax on the imported vehicles at the time of customs clearance.

The new tax was imposed through the amended Finance Act, 2023.
