The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in three different operations has seized 30 kilograms of ice drug ‘absorbed’ in towels, ladies’ clothes and prayer mats at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

An ANF spokesperson said that the towels were booked by a courier company and were about to be dispatched to Australia but on suspicion when checked 20kg ice drug was found absorbed in the towels.

The modus operandi was that the drug was first mixed in water then the towels were soaked in it and later the towels were dried, leaving hardly a hint what is hidden in them.

The cargo was booked by one Amir Ramzan.

In a separate raid, seven kilograms of ice drug was found that was also absorbed in prayer mats. The parcel was booked to be delivered in Australia by a citizen named Arhsad Ali, a resident of Lahore.

In another raid, three kilograms of ice drug was found from a parcel containing ladies’ clothes absorbed with the drug and was booked for Sri Lanka through a courier service company office located in Karachi.

The parcel was booked by Shagufta Bano, a resident of Sheikhupura. The authorities raided the courier service office and foiled the smuggling attempt.

ANF spokesperson said that ANF has seized all the drugs and launched further investigation into the matter.
